28405 GloBul is sending network delivery receipts rather than handset delivery receipts.

Cambodia

We are using Adaptive Routing throughout Cambodia so that your traffic will go over the best possible quality route.

Delivery receipts are unreliable in Cambodia and should not be used as a measure of quality. Also, Sender IDs are generally overwritten to ensure delivery.

Cameroon (Direct route)

Cameroon is a growing sms market and filters blocking traffic are becoming more and more common. Many operators are now setting up filters and ss7 links no longer work. Nexmo is pleased to announce that we are now offering a direct, high-quality and stable SMS delivery service to Cameroon! This will improve deliverability and ensure filtering is avoided for all SMS to Cameroon.

Delivery reports will be supported and Dynamic alpha senderID can be supported. Note that as on all direct connections no spam, political and/or adult content is allowed.

As of November 22nd 2014, phone numbers have shifted from 8 to 9 digits in Cameroon. All GSM numbers (MTN, Orange, Nexttel) are now preceded by the number “6”. So for example (237) 99246025 becomes (237) 699246025.

This means that all SMS-MT sent to the operators Orange and MTN must contain recipients numbers of 12 digits starting with 2376. All SMS-MT sent containing destination numbers of 11 digits are rejected and cannot be sent to operators.

Canada (Direct route)

Canada and the USA both have very specific messaging restrictions and a direct connection is necessary in order to ensure message delivery to the numerous networks. Nexmo uses an extremely high-quality, direct connection in order to deliver your SMS to Canada.

Person-to-Person traffic may be sent to Canada, using a long virtual number. An SMS may originate from a mobile phone, a computer application or an internet-based service, but the message must have been initiated due to human interaction. Application-to-Person (A2P) traffic may be sent to Canada, using our Alerts Short code API.

Note: Our U.S. pre-approved short code API can reach Canada destinations for 2FA and Alerts, however the Sender ID will be automatically changed to a long number to ensure delivery. You will receive network delivery receipts instead of handset DLR’s when sending to Canada. The SMS will also be queued to match the one SMS per second throughput limit for long numbers in Canada.

The numerous feature restrictions for our long-virtual-number route are as follows:

  • Limited numeric sender only –> In the “from” field you need to specify your pre-approved Canadian (or US) virtual number in international format e.g. 18479121345. Otherwise your message will get rejected with reject code 15 Illegal Sender Address – rejected.
    • You can purchase pre-approved long virtual numbers very inexpensively from the Numbers tab in your Nexmo dashboard.
  • Carriers do not send handset delivery receipts.
  • Intermediate DLR (accepted status) will be provided as soon as the message reaches the operator’s platform.
  • Binary, VCard, unicode and long SMS are not supported by Canadian carriers.
  • Euro symbol (€) and some accented characters are not supported by Canadian Carriers.
  • You may send a maximum of 1 SMS per second and per virtual number in Canada due to local carriers regulations. If you send messages more quickly, the message(s) will be rejected. If you require higher throughput, you can purchase more numbers and spread your traffic across your numbers. E.g. 10 numbers = 10 SMS per second.
  • Maximum of roughly 500 messages per day and per long virtual number. If this is exceeded your number will be blocked and will no longer work.
Chile (Direct route)

South America is a growing mobile messaging market, but one with many challenges. Chile is one of the major South American destinations and various filters are in place to filter and block sms. In order to resolve this growing problem, Nexmo is now offering a direct, high-quality SMS delivery service to Chile!

All sender IDs are changed to a random numeric sender. Handset delivery reports are supported but please note that they are frequently delayed and are therefore not a good measure of message delivery latency

Please note that unicode is generally not supported in Chile so we would strongly recommend to avoid using it when sending to this location.

As on all direct connections no spam, political and/or adult content is allowed.

Due to changes in the numbering plans in this country (as of 2016) which requires that all mobile numbers have a digit (9) added in front of the number (behind the country code), when Nexmo receives a message for this country, this digit will be added to the destination number automatically to ensure delivery.

Example: Nexmo receives a message for 564756XXXXX, Nexmo adds the digit 9 after the country code and sends to the operator with the destination as follows: 5694756XXXXX.

China (Direct route): Features & Restrictions

China is one of the largest and fastest growing markets in the world for mobile messaging. However it is particularly difficult to deliver to and many filters are in place to block messages in and out of the country. Cheap links into China will simply not work and the majority of messages will be rejected or blocked via these filters. Therefore Nexmo is happy to share that we are using a direct link into all Chinese networks with very high delivery-ratio results!

In general the following restrictions apply for all Chinese carriers:

  1. Sender ID will be replaced by a numeric service code
  2. Handset delivery receipts are supported, as is delivery to ported numbers.
  3. Message content length:
    • 65 characters if using Unicode (needed for Chinese characters)
    • 130 characters for non-Unicode (latin alphabet + standard ASCII characters)
    • Concatenation is supported however every message part will contain 62 characters.
  4. Adult, religious and especially political messages are very likely to be blocked. An explanation of keywords blacklisted by the Chinese government can be found here.
    • Known filtered keywords: Falung Gong, SB, Tienanmen Square
    • Or keywords in the category of: Gambling, Adult content, Property, Education, Migration, Financing, Loans, Beauty care, Cosmetic surgery, Healthcare, Red Timber, Alcohol, Politics, Fraud, Advertisement
  5. URL links are not allowed in messages. Messages containing a URL will be blocked.
  6. Arabic characters are not supported into any Chinese networks

Also please find restrictions to Chinese numbers as follows:

China Unicom (46001): WAP push messages are not supported

China Mobile (46000): use of binary content is restricted

At this moment in time we are unable to accept any marketing or promotional traffic towards China

Also please note that 2 message with the same content cannot be sent to same phone in a day and that a maximum of 10 message (with different content) can be sent to same number in a day.

Nexmo has a higher quality route for customers sending transactional content, that requires pre-registration and is reserved for customers sending more than 1 million messages per month.

– 以UCS2编码可发送65个Unicode字符(中文字符必须用UCS2编码);
– 以latin1或ASCII编码可发送130个非Unicode字符;
– 长短信是支持的,每个短信可载量为62个Unicode字符。

4. 成人,宗教和特别是政治的内容会被拦截。中国政府列入黑名单的关键字如下:
– 已知会被拦截关键字:法轮功,SB,天安门广场;

WAP Push

Colombia (Direct route)

Nexmo has a direct relationship with Tigo who are able to deliver messages to all subscribers.

Sender ID is changed generally to Shortcode 85307 or 87457 and occasionally to a local long number in order to ensure successful delivery.

We use Adaptive Routing throughout Colombia to ensure continuous high-quality.

Colombian network operators do not provide delivery receipts.

Unicode and concatenated messages are correctly supported.

Supported Features
Reliable handset delivery receipts – No
Dynamic Sender ID – No
Unicode – Yes
Concatenated Messages – Yes

Croatia

Please note that T-Mobile Croatia (21901) and VIPnet Croatia (21910) are currently no longer supporting alphanumeric Sender IDs. In order to ensure that your messages are delivered we advise that you use only numeric Sender IDs and any alphanumerics may be filtered or changed to a numeric one by the operator.

Additionally we have recently been informed that DLRs to Croatia are unreliable and should not be taken as a true measure of message delivery.

Costa Rica (Direct route)

We are using Adaptive Routing for all traffic into Costa Rica. Therefore all Sender ID will be changed to a long number to ensure delivery.

Cuba

CubaCel (36801) has implemented some filtering and it seems that messages are being filtered randomly. We recommend not sending more than 100 copies of the identical message. You must change at least 1 letter in the message every 100 messages. All Alphanumeric Sender ID would be changed to international Sender ID to ensure delivery. Network level delivery receipt are supported for SMS deliver to numbers of this network.

Czechia (Direct route)

In spite of being a smallish market with 10 million population, Czechia has more than 14m subscribers, one of the highest penetration rates in the world. The operators, especially T-Mobile and Vodafone have been filtering heavily and actively shutting international routes down, or imposing high interworking fees.

Nexmo is pleased to be able to offer local direct connections. In line with local regulations, the Sender ID will be changed in compliance with operator restrictions to ensure delivery. All other features such as binary and concatenation, are supported.

Sender IDs are all overwritten generally to a local shortcode but also occasionally to an alpha or random numeric sender.

Cyprus
p>We are currently using a direct link to 28001 Cytamobile-Vodafone that does not return DLRs, so please do not rely on DLRs as delivery confirmation.
